The Babies Are....

We couldn't be more excited!!!

We've also chosen 2 names that we love, so when they come, we'll have to choose who looks more like the names...

May be hard since they're going to look exactly alike.

1. Alayna Julienne

Julienne (pronounced ju-leen) was my Gammie's (grandmother's) name.

2. Jilinda LaRene

Linda is my mother's name and Jilinda is a friend of mine who I met in Vocal Union who is an amazing person. LaRene is Seth's mother's name.

We already love our little girls to bits, and are so excited to meet them!

One More Day

There's only one more day until we find out what the sex of the twins will be!!!

We can't wait!!

I'm seriously starting to get the prego "nesting" feeling, but can't really do much about it until we know what they are!

If you haven't taken a guess on our poll and would like to, today's the day to do it!

PS: As a reminder, they are identical so there's still only two options...have had a couple guesses of one boy and one girl in comments...as much as we'd like that to happen, we're not counting on it...loves!

Mount Saint Helens

This is the most exciting thing we did for Seth's Spring Break this year!

It was the most clear day out of the week, but we still hit some clouds over the mountain on our way...

Even when we got there, it was pretty hard to see it.

*hint: it's the big white cloud blob

Porter was pretty unsure about the situation up close to the mountain, but was talking about going to see "the mountain with fire in it" the whole day until that point.

I found it fascinating that the trail we took was almost completely ash rock!

Not only that, but that there were so many ash domes all over the valley floor!

Amazing.

I think Someone heard my slightly disappointed heart at the clouds and wanted to help because the clouds started clearing the further we got on the trail.

(We didn't go very far...3 year old and a pregnant lady...)

Meanwhile, Porter wasn't too happy about being in the cold and started complaining.

My poor frozen child had to put up with his super excited mom...

...who was especially excited when she got to see more of the mountain.

Gladly, and sadly, that is the clearest it got.

I was amazed at how LARGE that mountain was.

I wasn't expecting that.

Even though it had lost elevation in the explosive eruption of 1980, it is still quite a sight.

On our way out, we stopped by a beautiful lake!

Coldwater Lake

Fitting name.

It's a little hard to tell in the picture, but the lake was a gorgeous shade of green!

On the edge of the blast zone, there was a sweet bridge...

I still think the Perrine in Twin is the prettiest bridge ever, but I may be prejudice.

We even got to meet a celebrity!

...sorta.

Playing Catch Up

The worst part about being sick for so long?

Having to play catch up afterward.

After coming home from Christmas, I felt like I was constantly behind my set schedule.

Yes, I give myself a schedule.

Being behind only got worse with all of the subsequent sicknesses in the household.

This last week, however, I got all caught up!

At least, with the important things like cleaning and organizing.

Definitely important when you're plugging your nose while tripping on things all day in every room.

I finally went through the dreaded process of going through my clothes and boxing up all my skinny ones to be replaced with my fat and maternity ones.

That was a little rough.

Not gonna lie.

I also finally got to get rid of the "sick" smell in the apartment!

One of the best smells in the world is the smell of a clean apartment.

Trick is, now we just need to make sure and keep it clean!

Easier said than done.

Porter was a normal three-year old during this whole cleaning process only throwing a fit when he felt he wasn't getting his way.

Which ended up being a lot.

Seth finished part one of his boards and has gotten to relax his brain and use his muscles since his return from his life of study.

By "use his muscles" I mean he's been working his thumb muscles playing Gran Turismo for at least 4 hours a day.

It seems to be nice for him to get that sort of...time doing that.

Now we just need to figure out what to do this next week over Spring Break!

Part One of Boards

Today's the day!

Seth's taking part one of his very important Boards exam today and tomorrow.

It's been a rough couple of weeks with him studying and the sickness in the house, but as of tomorrow, it will all be over!!

Can you tell I'm excited?

It will be so nice to talk about something other than Boards and start focusing on what's coming up this summer...like externship rotations and the babies.

It will also be nice to have Seth around the house a lot more than he has been.

I'm sure he'll do great today and tomorow, and everything will be fine.

With how much he's studied, I don't see it happening any other way.

Although, I definitely don't envy him right now.

Because I Drink It...

Yesterday, Porter started crying in the kitchen like something very wrong happened.

I hurried to find out what was going on, and found him in tears holding Seth's paint-on super glue that was on the counter.

It was open.

I noticed Porter pulling what looked like strings of hardened glue out of his mouth and asked, Did you drink that!?

He tearfully replied, Yeah, in a very panicked voice.

Trying to stay calm I asked, Why did you drink it?

Because, I drink it!

Oh.

Thankfully, super glue is not toxic.

We did spend quite a bit of time trying to get it off our hands after the fact.

Moral of the story...put your super glue away or else your three-year-old may end up thinking it's juice.

Porter's gift from Mama and Pops was so creative!!

He absolutely loves it!

I have video of him reading it, but it's not loading.

So, when we can afford better internet, I'll add it.

At first, Porter wasn't much into using the control to play with his black mustang.

But, he got into it.

And the white one?

He'll just sleep with that.

(Oh, yah, and we got a recliner...for free!)

Mean

It's just mean.

A pregnant woman should not catch a cold.

Let alone catch a cold three times in three months and not be able to take any drugs that will actually help with symptoms.

If you didn't know, I'm a nursery leader.

I take the children with runny noses out of nursery every Sunday to keep myself and the other children from catching their sickness that has already been put in the room because they were dropped off.

Maybe it's pointless of me to do so, but I'm trying to make a point...and that point is:

Parents of children who are in nursery PLEASE do not drop off your kids when they are ill.

And, with that I mean if they have ANY symptoms of being sick don't bring them in.

We already have to deal with the germs on all of the toys because of parents in previous wards who put their sick child in nursery.

We cannot clean those toys every week because...well, we have our own children's toys to clean at home, there's not enough time to do so before or after church, and there seems to be new toys dropped off in there every week.

I think cleaning the nursery toys should be added to the cleaning to do list every time the building gets cleaned...

Being a parent myself, I understand you have a calling and other kids to deal with...etc...but, honestly, I am very much tired of Porter getting sick, of Seth getting sick, but most especially (because I'm growing two babies) of ME getting sick.

When I'm sick, the house falls apart...almost literally.

Granted, it may not have been such a big deal if I wasn't pregnant, but Porter has also been sick a lot, and who likes it when their child is sick?

When Porter is sick, Seth and I keep him out of nursery.

PLEASE do the same thing.
