Christmas Day 2010

I gotta say, Christmas is so much more fun with a 2 year old.

He is starting to understand the concept of the whole thing, and he gets so excited about what he gets!

His favorites?

(Ezra will be happy about this one too)

His motorcycles from Grumpa...

...and his Lightning McQueen scooter from Mom & Dad...

Grumpa's Favorite:

My gift to Gammie:

Vanna's favorite:

And, Mikki's:

My gift to Seth...(that he actually bought heehee)

And, my favorites!

Hunchback from Seth and Penguin pajamas from Santa.

The pajamas came in an adorable bag!

Had to take a picture ;)

The kid's gift for the Padres...

A blu-ray to go with their new HD TV!

And, because I couldn't get this any higher than the bottom, enjoy Porter's motorcycle noices!

We hope you had a merry Christmas!!

Probably Not A Good Idea

It's probably not a good idea to run on a treadmill when you're still coughing...

...because you may lose your balance while you almost choke.

Where We Going?

Technically, this should be before the previous post...

Porter was very excited about where we were going for Christmas!

Locks of Love

It was time for a much needed haircut.

When I get tired of my hair, I go drastic.

Sooo, I decided for the first time to donate my hair to Locks of Love!

Here's before:

And, after:

Like I said, drastic!

I love it, though!!

Shortest I've ever gone!

Checkin' Eyes

I think I know what Seth wants Porter's profession to be...

He's already got a great example.

And an apparrent interest.

Porter wants to be just like his daddy!

Bummer

I caught a cold.

A mean one with a fever.

I was coughing so much I couldn't sing!

...which is actually usually the case when I get sick in general.

When it was concert time on Friday and Saturday, I was still unable to sing.

I stood up and mouthed the words on Saturday's two o'clock performance--trying to sing a few notes here and there.

I'm sure I sounded terrible.

I'm also sure I was more a distraction to the performance than a helpful performer.

So, I didn't sing at the night's performance.

One concert out of three after practicing for ten weeks, memorizing, and missing one rehearsal.

One is better than none.

Porter's Game

I've shown you some of Porter's game in a previous post...

...but what I haven't shown you is that it has made some developments.

He likes to be shot at.

Here's his "I'm hit"

His "death"

And then his "resurrection"

Someday, I'm going to have to explain to him that life isn't exactly like a video game.

Much Better

After being sick for 3 days, a fever of 103, and many a night's lack of sleep, Porter's face was back to this:

...and I looked an awful lot like this:

PS: notice his sweet new haircut!? :)

Girls Nite

A bunch of us girls got together to get away from it all for a night.

Mikelle, Tara, Brianne, Lisa, Tracy, Kristina, me, and Mindy

We had a blast!

So much fun, in fact, that they had to practically kick us out of Panera Bread after being there for almost four hours.

First of many Girls Nites to come!

This Face

I don't like this face...

...I just want to hold him and never leave his side when he looks like this.

But, I got to go to church today and leave the boys at home.

Seth's a great Daddy, and made a great nurse.

Porter's gotten better, slowly, ever since I came home.

I think on the next doctor's appointment for him I'm going to ask about this.

He's sick a lot.

I have my theories, but I want to know for sure.

Does your child get puke-sick at least once a month?

Turkey Day

We hosted Thanksgiving for the second year in a row.

This time, instead of buying pre-sliced turkey, we actually cooked our own!

Or, should I say...

 SETH COOKED IT!!!

And, oh my goodness, it was the best turkey I think I've ever had (sorry, Mom).

It was juicy, flavorful, and just plain perfectly delicious!

Secret?

The turkey bag.

Seriously!

Thanks, Brianne, for the tip!

Speaking of Brianne, here were our guests for the evening:

Ty, Brianne, Scott, Ezra (you see the top of his head by Scott), and Ryan (arm by Seth)

Everything was absolutely delicious.

For dessert, we had pie and brownies.

And, believe it or not, I actually made a pie!

Proof:

Not exactly beautiful, but it was so good!

Seth told me I should make more.

Especially since it was diabetic-friendly!

I think Seth and I had a lot of beginner's luck with our dinner, but we certainly enjoyed the company and the food.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm Strong

We let Porter bring us his diaper basket when it's time for his change...and, no, he's not yet potty trained...dang it.

He has gone potty once, though!

That's progress!

Anyway, when he brings his diapers, he likes to comment about how strong he is.

Usually as he is in the process of dropping the basket.

What a great, strong helper!

Wanna See My Teeth?

While relaxing with Seth, Porter came up to me with this face:

I died.

And, just kept on laughing.

Even when he released his upper lip.

Porter loves to lighten our day.

Possible Pattern

I may be becoming a pathological picture-taker on a break.

This week wasn't crazy!

In fact, it was very nice and mostly relaxing.

Seth had Fall break, so was home more and therefore I got to accomplish much more than usual!

I also got to actually hang out with my husband!

But, after a day of Nursery with a bunch of 18 month to 2 year olds, I feel like I need another one of these...

...put up on my wall.

Ah, memories...
