Family Pictures

We got family pictures taken by Megan over Spring Break, and I LOVE how they turned out! Porter was a bit grumpy through most of it because he was teething over the whole week (two new ones!) and so his smiles look a little angry at the same time, but I thought they turned out great! Thanks Megan!!

PS: I also got my hair cut the same day...:)

Drumroll Please...

TA DA!!!
It is finished and B-E-A-U-tiful no?
The paint will probably be all dinged up in a day knowing Porter...but I am SO glad we have it!!! Thanks Seth/Daddy for building it and for helping Mama paint!

Charlie Bit Me

So, maybe I am just out of the loop or something, but I hadn't seen this video until today. I think it's so funny! Thought I'd share :)

We're SO Glad...

...when Daddy comes home for Spring Break!!!

Every day of break so far, Porter and Seth have had so much fun together!
We're working on selling our pretty entertainment center off Craigslist, but we haven't yet, so it's taking space in the living room, but Porter and Seth love to crawl around it and have a blast!
Porter spends most of the time trying to stay far away from Daddy who's about to come "get" him and give him tickles!

I don't think I can say it works very well...

It's so fun to watch.

After a few runs around the center, Porter decided to try to hide behind it since Daddy was getting tired...but...

...he found a hole!

And, he just had to play with it! :)

...and, of course, try to eat it!

Porter has been able to stand up on his own for a few weeks now, but I finally caught pictures! (Sorry about the ghostly blurs...my camera has been acting funny with indoor lighting ever since the beach. *Uncle Randy??)

It's so funny to watch him stand up...

"Um, where's his head..."

Another thing we've been able to do together is go for walks! Porter doesn't like his coat much...he doesn't move his arms once you put him in it.

After we go for walks, sometimes we go to the toys on the apartment grounds and he goes down the slide a few times!...sometimes Daddy has to give him a little nudge.

I don't think he likes to be forced down a slide ;)

We've had a few problems with a toy box order for Porter from Target, so Seth told me he'd build me/Porter one over the break...he got on it pretty quickly! It's already close to painting time! I'll post the finished product. I think I might even make a cushion to go over the top...hmmm. Maybe I should finish all the crafts for people who signed up for my craft it forward! (PS: 2 more spots!)

Porter's been Seth's little shadow...hawk...well anyway, he's been at arms length from Seth ever since we got the wood out...and he'll stare at him for 20 minutes before whining to be closer.
Funny child...
He sure loves his Daddy!!
Monday I finally got to see Twilight! The Pitts had us over! Brianne loves Twilight more than me, I think...and I love it a lot ;) I thought the movie was good! I always enjoy books better, and movies never portray the characters the way I picture them, but I thought it was very well done. Thanks for letting us watch it on your new Blu-ray!! ;)
The play for enrichment has been going well! We've had to have practices over the break, which I don't think anyone is happy about, but it's definitely coming together! It's always nice to hang out with those girls. One week and it's all over...can I just say...HALLELUJAH! I can guarantee you...I will not ever agree to be in charge AND a character in a play ever again. It's put WAY too much stress on me and my family over the past couple months. I will do one or the other. :S
Today we went swimming with Scott and Ryan Pitts at the aquatic center. It was a lot of fun! Brianne chose not to come, so I was kinda just hanging out feeling all sorts of fat in my swimsuit all by myself in the hot tub because I'd already gotten ready...but whatever! ;) It was relaxing...excluding the feeling huge part, of course...hee hee. It was really fun playing with Porter in the pool. It's like a big bath tub!...with a lot of people! He loves it...definitely a Jensen!
I wish every week were Spring Break!

Porter the Climber

Hey there, buddy...

...what are you up to??

"I'm climbing, mama!"

"Duh..."

Don't ask about the missing pants...he's been like that a lot lately because of his lack of bum ;)

Craft it Forward

I've seen this on a few blogs, but when my Aunt Kathryn posted it, I had to get in because she has always made the cutest things!...now to make the time to make stuff :)

Here are the rules: The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me!

This offer does have some limitations:

1. You will not know what it's going to be, and there are no guarantees that you will like what I make! It may be something simple and small or I may go crazy and do something amazing.

2. It’ll be done this year. Translation: you may be waiting a little while.

3. Most importantly, you must offer the same deal on your blog - the first 5 people to comment on your blog (or Facebook or whatever, if you don't have a blog) get something made by YOU!

Violining Again

I heard someone call playing the violin "violining" once and I thought it sounded funny. Yes, grammatically it may be correct, but I still think it sounds weird...random, I know :)

Anyway, I have joined an orchestra! I haven't played in one since high school because I was focusing on my voice, but I'm really glad I've decided to do this. It was a last minute decision, too! I was thinking to myself, "you know, I really need to get out more...I also need to practice my violin more...I wonder if there are any local orchestras" and lo and behold there is! It's in Hillsboro which is about 20 min. away on the freeway, but not too bad a drive. I emailed the person in charge on Sunday, and she let me know that they had just finished their fall season and were starting their spring season the next day, and my timing was perfect! So, Monday, I went to the practice and am now an official member of Hillsboro Symphony Orchestra! Yay!

In other news, Porter has two new teeth...#10 and 11! He, Seth, and I have caught ANOTHER cold...which has not been good. So, on top of teething, he's sick...which has made for spliting headaches all day long on my part because of my sickness and his screaming...This is actually the first time he's been really grumpy while teething. I think it's because there's a ton coming in at once. Not fun.

BUT! We're keeping busy and we're definitely ready for spring break next week!!!

Something else Porter has been doing lately is standing up on his own!! I have no pictures yet, but he surprised us while we were at the Pitts the other day out of the blue! My baby isn't a baby anymore!

Sickness and a Tooth!

I don't know what happened with Porter, but he was pukey sick for two days...but only at around 6pm. He was fine in the moring and afternoon, but when six rolled around, he got a temperature and he could't keep anything down. I don't know if it was from his shots or if he just got some weird bug. Poor kid. He still has a bit of a cold remaining as well. He seems a lot better today...I really don't know what it was, and I probably never will!

He got his 9th tooth today, and his 10th is right below the surface!

A Very Good Article

I just read this off of the Jenne's blog. It is an article about the publicity dilemma involving the Church.

WICKED

Seth and I had the oportunity to see the Broadway show, Wicked, today!!! We dropped off Porter at the Farr's place (thanks so much again!!) for a few...hours...drove into Portland, and saw Wicked!!!
I have been wanting to see this play for YEARS! When we got tickets off Craigslist, I was SO excited! I did a little victory dance with Porter!
Imagine how I was right before we went in! Well, you don't have to imagine, cuz here it is...

I was SO excited, but I was FREEZING cuz it was raining and windy, and I'd just taken a bite out of a granola bar...so...you can't really tell.
Once inside, I was practically bouncing off the chair, I was so giddy. I even snuck a picture of the stage before it started...

Yes, that dragon moved...it was pretty sweet.
I was so close to tears at least 7 times during the performance and I dabbed at my eyes once to keep the tears from falling. But, it's not just emotionally touching, it's hilarious! We had a blast, and it was AMAZING!!! If anyone ever gets the chance to see this show, GO! You wont regret it!!

Definition of an Active Child...

...Porter.

It all starts with attempted throws...with his mouth open?

"Wait...there's two?"

"Score!"

We have a subwoofer by the entertainment center that Porter likes to use as his own personal toy table.

Porter eats his toys...and any other object...better than his own food.

Once he was done with the shaped blocks, he moved on to the entertainment center.

This is something Porter has been doing for a while now...he pulls out the door...

...and shuts it in front of the screen so we can't see it. Not a good thing when you're in the middle of a movie.

And, boy, if he isn't proud of himself for this accomplishment.

Little mischief-maker.

Now that the entertainment center was "properly" shut, he moved on to something new.

Flinging around a rubber chicken!

But, this isn't just ANY rubber chicken.

THIS chicken poops an egg...

...is EXTREMELY flexible...

...and can punish you for too much flinging!

Thanks, Pitts! ;)
Porter figured the chicken wasn't very nice once he had a stinging cheek, so he moved on...again.

Daddy left Porter's towel on the baby gate after his bath...sooo

Porter dragged it around for a bit!

A boy and his...towel?

That must have been qutie a workout dragging that thing around. He didn't do it for quite as long as the previous activities...and eventually got back to the blocks!

But, this time, he tried to put the correct shape in the correct hole...the way it's supposed to be. ;)
Believe it or not...this was ALL one night...and this is pretty typical!
