I Spy...

After church yesterday, we came home and heard a call from a bird we didn't recognize as "normal" for what we usually hear.

When we looked up, we saw this:

Do you see it?

We saw this majestic bald eagle right in front of our apartment!

We hurried to grab the camera, and after uploading the photos, noticed something else...

Two!!

Now, this isn't the first time we've seen eagles, but for sure this is the first time we've seen them in a residential area.

Crazy...and totally awesome.

My Two Bits

...on a couple things I like!
Seth and I went to Burgerville! And, let me tell you...it's SO GOOD!
I mean, besides A&W, I think this place hits my #1 on fast food burger places.
They use all natural ingredients, have seasonal items using ingredients from local farmers, use wind power, and recycle their fat free Canola oil into bio-diesel.
Pretty sweet.
And pretty dang good.
And the other bit...
I love love LOVE this picture!!!
...too bad it's $200 :(
But isn't it GORGEOUS!!??
Yes...yes it is.

Our First Family Visitor

...in Oregon that stayed at our place, anyway!
Seth's dad, or Pops, came into town for the GWECO conference (for optometrists, if you cared to know what that was). We were so excited to have our first visitor! Seth especially!
Porter warmed up to Pops super fast, and would cry when he would leave the apartment just like whenever Seth and I leave. He wouldn't leave him alone when he was going to bed, and LOVED playing with him. It was so cute to watch.
We can't wait to see you again at Christmas time!!

Porter-bum

After laundry last week, I turned around to find this...

...my cute little ghostie.
We moved the piano back downstairs so that I could walk by it and feel guilty for not practicing, and Porter has decided that he likes to play!

He'll play me songs all day...I think I know why...

So proud of himself.

Remember this?

Well, Daddy likes to keep trying to squish his face...

...and I think he likes it, but it's a little hard to tell.

Phones...phones...phones.

I don't know a baby that doesn't love them...or an adult for that matter!

Porter's got himself some girlfriends! My kid is just too cute for them to resist.
Porter and Ryan playing a duet...

Hanging out with Caroline...

...laying on the stairs...

...sometimes I wish I knew what was going on in those little heads...

Taking the Camera Out + Porter =

Smiling...laughing...

...and running as fast as you can all around Mommy...

...thinking you're so clever because you're making all the shots blurry...

...so, Mommy resorts to videos.

Baseball anyone?

Gotcha!

Porter loves his car noises...

We have a very active child.

A Touch of Fall

I love the Fall.

I honestly couldn't wait until it finally hit!
Granted, Seth being back in school isn't a basket of roses...

...but Fall temperatures, colors, holidays...I love it all!!

I was so excited for fall to come, that I actually bought my decorations while it was still 90+ degrees outside.

I mean, I was seriously willing it to be Fall.

Anyway, it finally came, and with it, came some more crafting

Seth was so happy when I made this table runner!

He bought me a sewing machine two summers ago while we were in Austin for my birthday, and I, seriously, didn't touch it until this last week when I made this.
Sister Smith who taught one of my two sewing classes at BYU-I when I was prego totally burned me out. I needed the break.

I'm glad my sewing days have returned.

Table runner also on my craft blog
Some of my decorations that I have up for October:
Note...I'm not gonna take pictures from further away until I have a clean house. And, being that cleaning my house with a messy husband and child makes it impossible...

This little ghostie is from my madre. She sent it to me last year, and I love how it is haunting our living room.

...Pumpkin is also from mom. Great candy holder! Now, I just need more than one family to come to the door this Halloween.

I saw the leaf vine with the pumpkins and little orange berries at JoAnn's, and couldn't resist.

Tombstone on the speaker also from Mom (who was my decoration savior last Halloween when I didn't have anything because we left everything in Casper)
Other awesome finds from JoAnn

I love Halloween.
And, doesn't this basket from Real Deals make my runner look even better!?

Seriously.

Sidewalk Artistry

The inventer of sidewalk chalk was a genius.

How else can you keep three little cuties so occupied ouside when the slide get's too crowded or boring?
Bring out chairs.

But even then, cars are more exciting.

A look of guilt? I think so!
Another good use for sidewalk chalk...

Face paint!

I love those pictures of Lyla.

I also love her cute little squeaky shoes!

Thanks Jordan!

Moving Up

...in the Beati world, anyway.

I have now been "transferred" to the mixed choir in Beati Chorum! I originally wanted to be in that one, so I'm very happy about this.

A surprise, though...was when AJ (the director) asked me to still sing for the women's group as well... even though I wouldn't be able to make many rehearsals.

It was very flattering.

A lot of new music is always exciting to me, and I'm very grateful for the opportunity!

But...

...I'm giving up yoga night for this...

Kinda bummed about that, but still excited. Maybe Jenny will exchange services for private yoga...hmm.

Conference Weekend

We always enjoy General Conference. It's always very spiritually uplifting and helps us to regain and strengthen our determination to be better.
I always like Elder Bednar's, Elder Oak's and President Eyring's messages, but I would have to say that Elder Holland's very powerful testimony was my absolute favorite from this session of conference. If you didn't have the chance to watch or listen, you can find his message on lds.org. I'd post the link, but it's almost 11:30 and I don't know why I'm still awake, honestly.
This is another favorite...

...who doesn't love hanging out in your underwear and pjs at home?
...and crashing on the floor...

A Happy Mess

Porter is an official pro at spoon feeding himself!

But he's also a pro of making a mess while doing so.

Still super cute to watch.
