My first quilt and baby blessing outfit! Both took a long time to do...I'm really glad I got into those sewing classes, though, because the skills I have learned will help me a lot.

Papa's 80th Party!
Papa Slaughter, my grandfather, will turn 80 on Halloween, but my family had a party for him a few weeks ago. He has Alzheimer's disease and probably wont remember a lot, so we decided to throw the party early...besides he's not too fond of Halloween anyway. Seth wasn't able to go, but I had a lot of fun seeing family again. I don't get to see extended family members as often as I would like.
The party went very well! My family always puts on a musical show when we have parties like this. Audrey and David played music from Porgy and Bess. The same arrangement that Gammie and Papa used to play together. It was very beautiful. Little Zoie sang Over the Rainbow and it was so cute to watch her up there. I sang Gammie's and Papa's song, All the Things you Are. It was very hard not to cry while I was singing it. Uncle Randy and Aunt Kathryn made a video of Papa's life that brought tears to everyone's eyes. It was just a great experience. Papa and Gammie lived very full lives. We all miss Gammie, but we're glad Papa is still with us.

Visit from Vegas
Milas and Laura came to Rexburg for some career thing Milas was doing on campus. It was really good to see them! We wish they could've stayed longer!
While they were here, we got to play games and go swimming. Here are some pics from the pool. We had a lot of fun with them and with Drew and Lindsey and Ben.

News
Seth and I are expecting a baby boy in February of 2008. We are very excited and are preparing for the big change in our lives. This pregnancy hasn't been the easiest one for me, but we are doing fine. I had a blood clot from birth control in October of 2006, and got another one shortly after finding out I was pregnant in July of this year. I was put into the hospital in El Paso, Texas where Seth and I were for the summer, and have been on blood thinner throughout the pregnancy. I am required to stay on it until six weeks after our little boy is born. It's not the cheapest medication, so in the summer I left Texas early and went home to Twin Falls to get on Medicaid. We found out we got it for September and for the rest of the pregnancy. We're very happy for that. Other than that, everything is going well!
