Playin' Aournd

Porter and i have had a lot ot time to play around...

He enjoys playing in between my legs until he falls down...

...and he enjoys playing by himself until I take the camera out.

Then he wants the camera, so he comes to attack it.

Off to Oregon!

Well, we're here in Forest Grove!
Our drive from Twin Falls to Oregon was longer than it should be because of our sweet little one, but we've made it safe and sound.
First impression of our apartment was "I hate it" but it has slowly changed to "I'll tolerate it until we get into Garden Grove (subsidized) in October." We're really just grateful to have an apartment at all!
The day after we arrived, Porter turned 6 months old!! It's so hard to believe he's already a half a year!!

We were only able to take a couple pictures of him, and he just in a cute little onesie, but he's so adorable everything looks good on him :)
Porter started playing with his toys by the Goodwill TV stand we bought a few days after we arrived...

*note his legs*

He ended up with his little legs under the thing! Then of course, started griping, so I got him out of his little predicament.
PS: a spider was on his toes when I got him out...I wsn't too happy about that. Luckily it was just a little one.

I know, I know

I haven't been posting for two weeks now. I guess that's just the joy of not having internet...
We get internet this coming tuesday, and I will update all of you on what's been happening when it's finally here. I just thought I'd write this before my next long post so that you all know we're still alive! Updates and pictures, so many pictures, in two days! You wont believe how much has happened!!...That is, except for the fact that you'll see the evidence of what's happened right here...yah...you still wont believe it.

Last Week in Twin!

This last week, Porter figured out how to climb up...

...and down...

...his car seat! :) He ended up off of it and on the floor, and started to cry...he's so funny.

Jo fell over while sitting in her seat...

"I'm a turtle!"

I love my crazy sister.

Yesterday, Mom, Dad, Mikki, Jo, Porter, and I went down to Brigham City and ate at Maddox! If you've never been there, go! It's actually in Perry, Utah, but right by Brigham City. GREAT food...especially rolls!! :)

My great little traveller...hopefully he'll be this good on the drive to Oregon!

So, I got my hair trimmed and my bangs cut (which has been heavenly, let me tell you), and then my hairdresser, Kellie Thomson (friend since third grade!!), added some extensions! I just wanted to try it out. I'm not sure if I like them or not...

They're black!! I had a choice of various shades of pink or purple, or black...I think this one is the most "normal" out of all of them.

Seth is home!!! He came in as I was in the middle of doing this! I'm so glad he's here! He doesn't seem to like my extensions much, so maybe I'll take them out :) What do you think?

PS: We head out to Forest Grove at 9am tomorrow!! AH!!

Cookie Recipe

This is for all of you APX girls! Chelsey reminded me of it the other day, so here it is!!

1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. brown sugar
1 lb. butter
6 c. flour
3 eggs
2 tbs. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt

Can add:
3 c. choc. chips
2 c. nuts
or
3 c. raisins
2 c. nuts
1 1/2 c. oatmeal

(I usually just do one bag of choc. chips)

Preheat oven to 350. Cream sugars and butter in large mixing bowl. Add eggs and vanilla and mix. Change to a sturdier whip, and add flour, soda, and salt. Blend in desired additive and mix. Drop by tablespoon onto cookie sheet and bake for 8 minutes or until top is slightly brown. Let set on cookie sheet for 5 minutes before removing.

Enjoy!! :)

Well...

...I was going to post a bunch of videos for Seth from my parent's camera, but Mikki dropped the camera yesterday...so...it's kinda not working right now. Sorry, Seth. They were cute videos too. I guess I'm just not going to be able to post videos ever! :(

Here are some pictures, anyway! The two of Porter were taken just now with Becca holding Porter. :) Becca is in town for a recital and master class that she's doing tomorrow for Mom's violin students. The two dogs are Senji and Duchess. Senji is my parents and Duchess is from the Christensen's place. They are brother and sister, and mom babysits Duchess when she can...which is actually a lot! :)

This is Senji...

...and this...

...is Duchess :)

Porter has had a rash since before we left from Texas. I think I'm going to take him to the doctor this week to check it out because it has spread to his arms. I wonder if I could just get his shots when I go instead of waiting till he's actually 6 months.

Seth has hit his goal of 261 installs! He wanted that many because that's an even number in dollars...and more than we've ever made. We certainly need it! I'm very proud of Seth! I'm really glad he's such a hard worker, and has a drive to get things done. He even sold some items this last week!!

Porter and I sure miss you, Seth!!

I had a fun week! I finally got some pairs of jeans! I've needed jeans for a long time, but since it was summer, I didn't think it was too important to get it. Now that fall is coming quickly, I definitely needed them!
I spent pretty much the rest of my birthday money on a couple nice shirts that can be casual or dressy, which is good.
I also got to go out to Coldstone with Monica and Chilie's with Chelsea! It's nice to hang out with good friends! Monica is engaged and will be married in a couple weeks, and Chelsea got married right after I left for Texas!! I think it's very exciting! :)

Yesterday, I went to Corinne Casperson now Anderson's wedding reception. She looked absolutely gorgeous! It was really good to see her, and I'm glad she is so happy! While I was there, I also saw a lot of old friends that I haven't seen in a long time!
I love Twin Falls...

PS: I realized I didn't say anything about the memories on here! I had a great time reading them!! Good times...I love all of you! :)
Thanks for posting them!!!

Trip to Twin

Porter and I arrived safely in Twin Falls, ID! We had a really great time in Texas, and already miss the Texas friends and the APX wives!! We hope you're all doing just great!

This is the first time in over five years that all of my siblings have been together! So, to celebrate, we went to the Twin Falls Temple open house! It was gorgeous!! The Reese family joined us, and it was really great to see them!

Arika Julienne Gourley, our niece, was baptized on Saturday in Jerome, which is right by Twin. We are so proud of her! Before we got to the baptism, we took some family photos and went to eat sushi at Sushi Ya...real yummy!! The only family members missing from the pictures are Seth, Donnie, and Paige. We wish they could've been up here with us. It was a lot of fun to be with all the family over the weekend!

Here we are!! Aren't we just so cute ;)

All of the girls with their brother! Poor Rob ;)...Becca was being a bit of a bum and not cooperating, so I might have to do some editing, but I think it's really funny! Love you, Becca!

Arika with Porter! He's more interested in the strings on her dress than the camera :)

Little Robbie and his adorableness!

Seth's news: He's been doing well with his installs! He got 19 last week and is very close to his goal! Go Seth :)

What Makes me Happy...

My two boys...

...especially when they're together :)

A few days ago, Porter was playing on his stomach right after I fed him...because he can't sit still. I had just gotten back from putting his bottle in the fridge, and saw that he'd spit up and put his face in it! This is the end result...

It was too funny to not take a picture!

Porter and I leave Texas on Wednesday morning, and I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. I mean, I really want to go home and see family, but I don't want to leave because this summer has been the best summer with APX we've had. I've loved hanging out with all the wives and Seth's had his best summer yet as far as installs go. All things come to an end, and I would have had to leave Texas this summer sometime, but I'm just a bit sad that I have to go so soon. This summer has gone by way too fast. I'm just glad I had the opportunity to get to know so many great people! Maybe we'll have another summer similar to this one next year! :)

Seth and I went to go see "The Dark Knight" last night...a really late showing. It was really good! Creepy, but really good! Batman is still my favorite superhero! You should see it if you haven't already!

Jake, Seth's brother, is here with us in Texas for a while. He came to town on Wednesday, and Porter was a bit confused with him. He looks too much like his dad! As you can see, he's trying to figure him out...
...Jake will be travelling home with Seth, which is good. I'm glad he wont be here alone, and I'm glad he'll be driving with someone.

Doctor's, Baby Shower, Birthday, and 5 Months...

Believe it or not, all of these things happened on one day...yesterday :)

Porter wasn't getting much better with his stomach flu bug, so we took him to the doctor's office to see if anything other then recovering from it was wrong. He wasn't eating well, didn't have regular diapers, and was just having hard days all week. The doctor told us to give him a gentler formula so it would be easier on his bowels, some acidopholis (not quite sure how to spell it, but it's the bacteria in yogurt) in his formula in the morning and evening, and Pedialite to keep him hydrated. He hasn't been a whole lot better since, but I can tell there is a good difference. I decided to give him some Tylenol, as well, because I think on top of all of this he might be teething. Ah, the joys of parenthood...

Well, after the doctor's office, Porter took a nap, and I was about to, when Dayna calls to ask me if I needed a ride to Chelsea's baby shower. "Oh yah! That's in like 10 minutes, huh!" So, needless to say, I went to the shower in sweats and looking like junk, but at least I went, right?

Chelsea's shower was a lot of fun! Brooke did a really good job planning it! There were a lot of fun games played and really great food to eat. It was held at Tammy Townsend's, who has an absolutely gorgeous house and is one of the nicest women I've met down here. Chelsea looks great at 30 weeks! She doesn't even look like she's past her sixth month! Let's just say, I'm slightly envious. :) Just glad I'm not pregnant...

Chelsea looking royal, placing the crown on her head.

Anna having to chug water out of a sippy cup in 30 seconds.

After the shower, I felt a little bad about not looking my best for these celebrations, so in the short time before going to the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate Chelsey's birthday, I fixed myself up a bit. Porter had fallen asleep again, so this was easier to do. (Poor kid had to be woken up twice to go somewhere...I'm a mean mommy) This was my first time eating at the Cheesecake Factory, and I just have to say, it is REALLY good! Of course, the cheesecake was amazing, but the food was great, too!

We're just posers! :)

Happy 22nd Chelsey!

Porter was celebrating as well...doesn't he just look so happy :)
He turned 5 months yesterday, but this was really the only picture I got of only him that day...

When Seth got home that night, he brought home one of the technicians, James, with him and a movie about Butch Cassidy. Well, the movie stunk, but the company was good. Why we stayed up so late watching it, I'll probably never know...definitely a busy day!

PS(es): Seth is no longer installing in Waco, which makes us very happy.
I will be going home with Porter to Twin Falls on the 30th.
You can still post a memory on the following blog :)

MeMoRiEs

I saw this game on a few of my friends blogs and it looked like fun. You don't have to join in, but if you want to, read the instructions below...

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, if it is recent or years old, silly or serious--anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Sickies

Porter and Seth have stomach flu...so I feel very much like a nurse today. Too bad I still have a cold...but it's going away. Last night was a long night and I'm pretty sure that today and tonight will be long too. Is it bad to say that I'm glad Seth is home today because of this and not in Waco? Basically, in a way, I'm glad he's sick so that he's home...that sounds really bad...:)
I hope none of you are sick, but if you need a nurse, I'm already in the business so come on over! ;)
