Fitting It All In

We are trying to fit in a bunch of stuff before we head out really soon.

Lilia had croup this week, so has been clingy and grumpy, so I didn't take many pictures of her... poor girl.

I have to admit, though, her raspy voice and almost silent cries and squeals are a little funny, even though it's sad.

We met up with Savanna and went to This is the Place on Friday morning, spur of the moment.

We had a blast!

Porter even got to ride a pony!

I got burned pretty bad because I didn't think we would be outside as much as we were.

Savanna got a bit burned as well, but we had fun!

Later, we met up with the Farrs downtown at City Creek to hang out.

We let the kids get soaked at the fountains after dinner.

It was very entertaining.

Although, for whatever reason, I didn't take any pictures.

Doh.

After the fountains, we asked our sopping wet son if he would like to go walk Temple Square.

He said he would!

So we did...

...with him shivering the whole time.

The next day, we decided to take a break from packing and go hike Ensign Peak!

Lilia wasn't a fan of the wind.

Or her hat.
Or her baby carrier.

On our drive back into heart of the city, I snapped a picture of the Capitol Building.

I realized we have now lived in three different capitol cities.

Kinda fun to think about.

Once back downtown, we parked under the Joseph Smith Memorial Building

Before touring the Beehive House...

And then eating at the Lion House...

It was a good break from the packing and wonderful weekend!

Lights At Temple Square

We had the opportunity to go to the lights at Temple Square before we headed to Twin for Christmas!

We were hoping for smaller crowds, but found that since it was the weekend before Christmas, that wasn’t the case.

It was still absolutely gorgeous!

And cold, very cold.

Getting to Touch the Temple

Porter has been wanting to touch the Salt Lake Temple ever since we moved here.

He wasn't able to do so until the night we came home from the Howes.

I love how excited he is, and like to think it's because he can feel how special the temple is.

Hopefully we will be able to return soon better prepared for the cold weather so we can get a good look at the lights!

After Almost 5.5 Years...

Seth and I got to have a second piece of our wedding cake!!

The story:

Seth and I were sick with colds for our reception in Twin Falls, so we weren't really all that hungry.

We figured we'd have leftovers and get to eat more of our wedding cake later when the reception was over until...

...we saw Mom's bishop taking the rest of the wedding cake away with him to HIS car!

I turned to my mom and said, Is that all that's left of the wedding cake?

When she said yes, I informed her that the only piece Seth and I even got to have of it was the piece we shared/smashed in eachother's faces.

She told me she's felt guilty ever since.

SO, while we were there, she surprised us and came upstairs with this:

And we made sure to make it a photo op!

Porter was especially excited to get a slice.

And we were much nicer with our sharing.

Here's what Porter thought about the cake...

I think we need to go to more weddings so he will understand what a wife is.

Yummy!!

Thanks Mom!

Jo & Kory

After dating for 2 years, it was about time these two got hitched!

We all waited for a while before they actually came out of the temple, so I got camera happy.

Keva, Mikayla, and Arika

Kathryn & David

Seth went to go pick up Porter before all the pictures were taken.

My boys are so cute.

Savanna was the flower girl...

...which made her giggle :)

I got to take a quick pic of me and my cute niece

Kaysha & Porter

Who definitely look related.

More of my boys

Isn't she pretty?

Gets it from her beautiful mom, Wendy!

And last, but not least-Papa, Connie and another of David

After most everyone left the temple grounds, the master of photography--my uncle Randy--got to work!

He comes up with the best poses!

Some of his best don't make it in his pictures, either...

...like that one.

So, I followed them around...

Hoping to learn a few tips from him, but mostly just wanting to help out.

Happy couple!

For those who wanted more detail on Joanna's dress:

My mom made her bouquet :)

Pretty girl!!!

And still a cheese!

After pictures, we went to Kory's parent's house and had their wedding BBQ...

...where Seth was working the grill!

Zoolander style.

Porter got to play around with Mikayla and her friends:

...where he had a blast!

Jo and her BFF Amanda

(Amanda actually got married last Saturday!)

Me and the Padres!

And then it was time to cut the...

...Kory?!

Because it was so dark, my camera would miss things, so we made them go slower...and got these:

And a slow version of this...

Bah haha!

Love you Jo!!

So happy for you guys!!!
